  • Christine Goonewardene

    Director | Physiotherapist

    Christine Goonewardene is the Director of Aspire Physiotherapy Claremont. Chris holds a Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science (2007), a Graduate Diploma in Exercise Science (2008), and a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (2013).

    Since 2015, Christine has worked with the West Coast Eagles Football Club as Medical Coordinator, collaborating closely with players, medical staff, and strength conditioning teams — including during their 2018 AFL Premiership win. She also served as Head Physiotherapist for the AFLW academies and team between 2017-2020. Chris now focuses on her work with the AFL men’s program alongside her private practice.

    Beyond her professional career and community involvement, Christine enjoys expressing her creativity through music, art, and design.

  • Mark Finucane

    Mark Finucane

    APA Titled Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist | MAPA | MACP

    Mark Finucane is an APA Titled Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist with over 25 years of experience in elite sport and high-performance environments. Since graduating in 1998, he has worked with leading teams and programs including Perth Glory, the WA Junior Soccer State teams (1999–2004), the Australian Men’s Hockey Program (AIS & Kookaburras) during the Beijing Olympic Cycle (2005–2008), and the West Coast Eagles Football Club, where he spent 16 years (2008–2024) as part of their medical team.

    In addition to his physiotherapy career, Mark is a celebrated Surf Life Saving WA Hall of Fame inductee. His achievements include medals at both World and Australian Championships, as well as competing in the prestigious professional Ironman Series, including the renowned Uncle Toby’s Super Series.

    With deep expertise in injury prevention, rehabilitation, and performance optimisation, Mark brings his wealth of knowledge and passion to Aspire Physiotherapy Claremont. He also leads Surf Sports, Performance, and Pathways at North Cottesloe Surf Life Saving Club, continuing to develop athletes across all levels.

  • Rosy Edwards

    Physiotherapist Specialising in Women's and Pelvic Health

    Rosy earned her Bachelor of Physiotherapy from Curtin University in 2018 and has developed a strong specialisation in Women’s and Pelvic Health. Rosy supports women through all stages of pregnancy and post-natal recovery, with expertise in managing pelvic and back pain, mastitis, incontinence, and guiding safe return to exercise programs.

    Dedicated to professional growth, Rosy has completed advanced training in Pelvic Health, Women’s Health, and Inflammatory Breast Conditions, ensuring her patients receive the latest evidence-based care. Alongside her focus on women’s health, she also enjoys treating musculoskeletal conditions, combining her clinical knowledge with a personalised, holistic approach.

  • Alicia Spencer

    Alicia Spencer

    Exercise Physiologist

    Alicia holds a Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science (2019) and a Master’s in Exercise Physiology (2021). She specialises in working with NDIS participants, particularly those with autism, designing tailored exercise programs to support independence, wellbeing, and long-term outcomes.

    She also has extensive experience in geriatrics, with a strong focus on falls prevention and balance training, helping older adults remain active, safe, and independent.

    Currently advancing her professional skills through a Level 2 ASCA Accreditation, Alicia also works as a Sports Trainer for the West Coast Eagles Football Club, where she applies her expertise in sports science, performance, and injury management.

    Sonja Board

    Remedial & Sports Massage Therapist

    Sonja holds a Diploma of Remedial Massage Therapy and is highly skilled in a variety of treatment techniques. She tailors each session through a detailed pre-treatment consultation, ensuring her approach addresses individual goals and concerns.

    Her practice incorporates techniques such as:

    - Deep Tissue Massage

    - Trigger Point Therapy

    - PNF Stretching

    - Myofascial Release

    With her personalised and client-focused approach, Sonja provides effective, targeted treatments that support recovery, reduce pain, and enhance overall wellbeing.

    Jess May

    Remedial & Sports Massage Therapist

    Jess combines her deep understanding of the body with a passion for movement and rehabilitation, offering a performance-focused approach honed through experience working with the West Coast Eagles AFL and AFLW teams. She helps clients of all levels from athletes or everyday movers relieve pain, improve mobility, and restore comfort using hands-on techniques such as:

    -Positional release

    - Deep tissue massage

    -Trigger point therapy

    Outside the clinic, Jess enjoys sport, walks with her dog Macy, and some time at the beach.

    Jayden Mitchell

    Physiotherapy Student | Personal Trainer | Receptionist

    Jayden has a background in Exercise and Sports Science from the University of Notre Dame and is currently completing his third year of Physiotherapy studies. With over three years of experience in both group and individual training, he has a strong interest in injury rehabilitation and sports performance development.

    Jayden focuses on teaching key movement patterns to help clients build strength, prevent injury, and optimise performance overall.
